A Fortunate Village
Tywardreath sits within a triangle of three main roads yet is just off all of them. This means that the village enjoys easy access without much traffic noise. It has retained many of the essential services which have been lost elsewhere - still having a primary school, a butcher, a grocer and newsagent, a fish and chip shop, a hair dresser, a pub, two active churches, a scout hall, a bus service and a main line railway station ten minutes walk away. The nearest post office is on Par Green. It takes quarter of an hour to walk to Par Beach and there are other walks offering a variety of coastal and inland scenery.
There are several active voluntary organisations: Women's Institute, Strand Quilters, Age UK, Friendship Club, Tywardreath Playgroup, Scouts, Guides, Brownies, Beavers, Morris Dancing Team,.
